Carriage Charges Notice

For many years, First Choice Group have done everything within its power to keep carriage costs for customers as low as possible. We have been able to do this by streamlining our distribution processes, consolidating orders into as few shipments as possible and, where necessary, absorbing additional costs rather than passing them on to our customers.

Due to changes in the current economic climate, market forces beyond our control and an increase in supplier surcharges, we are no longer able to maintain carriage costs at the present level.

From 1st September 2019, First Choice Group will be increasing the cost of various available carriage services in-line with supplier increases where appropriate. This small, but necessary increase will enable us to continue to provide the high level of service that you have come to expect from First Choice. Any quotes created prior to 1st September will be honoured for 30 days at the current carriage rate.

We appreciate that this will of course have implications for our customers’ businesses and have taken all available measures to keep the changes to carriage costs at a minimum. Like many other UK businesses, increases to freight taxes, particularly on imports has impacted us as we continue to provide the highest level of in-stock availability for genuine OEM parts.

In order to minimise further disruption as we head towards 2020, we are working closely with suppliers and the supply chain as a whole to find solutions to the challenges currently faced by our industry.

Our commitment to you, our customers, is absolute and we will continue to improve both our processes and supply chain. Some of the solutions we have already introduced include:

  • Consolidation of orders into as few shipments as possible, keeping the number of parcels, and therefore carriage costs per order at a minimum.
  • Economic use of packing materials, ensuring that your orders arrive safely and cost effectively, while reducing the impact on the environment.
  • Later cut-off times for ordering. As foodservice businesses provide longer operating hours than ever, we will be there to supply essential parts when they are needed.
  • New, innovative solutions to help streamline your own processes and reduce costs for your businesses such as our app, website and paperless invoicing.
