Cannock Chase MP, Amanda Milling, pays visit to First Choice HQ
5th July 2019
Last week, First Choice Group was delighted to receive a special visit from our MP for Cannock Chase, Amanda Milling, who visited our headquarters on Friday morning.
During her visit, Amanda had a full tour of the premises and was keen to hear about our latest innovations and recent technological advances in web and app logistic solutions, as well as our efforts with energy saving.
Our team then gave a presentation on the business, our facilities and the history of First Choice Group to Amanda, who then took part in a Q&A session fielding questions from our MD, John Whitehouse, and senior leadership team.
Some of the topics discussed within the Q&A session included Boris Bikes, the public bicycle hire scheme in London, local infrastructure improvements and Brexit.
Amanda then finished her visit with lunch at the First Choice restaurant, located within our facilities before heading back to her offices.
Amanda Milling MP said: “I was delighted to visit First Choice Group to meet the team, have a tour of the site and learn more about the business. First Choice’s growth over the past 20 years is amazing and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a great business here in Cannock.”
Since being elected into Parliament, Amanda has served on the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee, as well as committees looking at education and skills.
She has also been involved with many high-profile subject matters, including the quality of higher education and the working practices of retail stores such as Sports Direct and BHS.
Locally, Amanda has been an active campaigner on issues such as the maintenance of the local road network within the Cannock Chase area, the delivery electrification of the Chase Line project, tackling the issue of overcrowding on the line, illegal waste site fires and supporting young people into work.
It was brilliant to have Amanda visit our premises on Friday and we would like to thank her for taking the time to visit us. It was great to be able to show Amanda what we do as a business and also learn more about her work both locally and further afield.
