Combico becomes First Choice Group Training

First Choice Group’s dedicated technical training division, Combico UK, rebrands to become First Choice Group Training Ltd.

Rebranding Combico as First Choice Group Training will make the brands more coherent and recognise the direct link between the training division and the spare parts operations, rather than establishing them as two separate entities.

The name change comes at a time when First Choice Group’s on-site training facility is undergoing a period of advancement, producing a range of new courses available from leading manufacturers and developing further advantages for engineers.

Combico was acquired by First Choice Group in 2014, establishing the brand as First Choice Group’s specialist engineer training arm and the UK’s only training centre to specialise in commercial catering equipment. Later that year, Rational expert Martin Dagnall was appointed as Technical Training Manager to develop the division.

Although Combico will now be known as First Choice Group Training, the division will operate in the same way. First Choice Group Training offers specialist training and is certified by Logic Certification to run courses and carry out assessments.

As well as branded training for leading manufacturers like Rational and MKN, First Choice Group Training also offers ACS gas training, electrical, microwave and refrigeration training, allowing engineers to train in a fully-functional commercial training kitchen.

The world-class training facility’s Electrical Competency Training programme has been developed in conjunction with CEDA and CESA and is also accredited by City and Guilds.

To mark the new phase for First Choice Group Training, the department is offering 10% off all Commercial Catering Equipment Electrical Competence Courses (CCEECC) which are booked before March 31st, 2019.

These two-day courses cover safe isolation, testing and measuring, resistance calculations, circuit protection, fundamentals of electricity and how to perform tasks safely and competently using a range of test equipment. On completing of the course and assessments, candidates will achieve a City & Guilds accredited certificate.
