Ian Gould doesn’t normally do things by half but you can be sure that when he does it really counts! Sunday was no exception as Ian lined-up alongside thousands of other people to take part in this year’s Stafford Half Marathon.

And in a matter of just 2 hours, 11 minutes and 37 seconds our charitable Parts Centre Operative crossed the line arms aloft having raised more than £300 for Old Tree Nursery, First Choice group’s chosen charity for 2017.

In preparing for his assault on the 21.1km event Ian had spent the last two months hitting the gym five-times-a-week. His training more than paid off.

“I am so grateful for the support of everyone who supported and sponsored me to help raise money for Old Tree Nursery,” he said. “It’s a fantastic charity that does brilliant work to help vulnerable and disabled people and those with special needs."

Ian reserved a special mention for Harrisons Sports and Social Club in Great Wyrley whose members and customers donated £200 to boost the 43-year-old’s cause. He also received sterling support from his colleagues at First Choice Group who are getting used to Ian’s charity fundraising, having also rallied behind him for November’s 10k Chase run in which he competed for Diabetes UK.

Next on Ian’s radar is the Great North Run in Newcastle on September 10.
