Donation Will Help Lives

14 December 2016

First Choice Group has ensured the season of goodwill spreads to industry colleagues in urgent need of help.
The company has today (Wednesday) donated £630 to Hospitality Action; the benevolent organisation established to assist people working within hospitality who are afflicted by ill health, poverty, bereavement or domestic violence.

Not Alone

Directors, John Whitehouse and Carl Bate, decided they would donate £10 to a good cause for every customer satisfaction survey (they sent out) which was completed and returned. There were 63 in total.

The decision to give the money to Hospitality Action was an easy one.
“We chose Hospitality Action because of the support it gives to our industry,” said John.
“It makes a real difference in people’s lives, helping them when they need help the most and at this time of year such support is invaluable.”

Established in 1837 Hospitality Action (formerly the Hotel and Catering Benevolent Association) provides crisis and essential needs grants for former and current workers in the UK hospitality industry.

It supports people who are:
• Suffering from life altering illnesses
• Experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence
• Retired from the industry and may be isolated

The money donated by First Choice Group will be used to provide recipients with essential items such as food, equipment and central heating. It will also help to fund educational seminars advising catering students of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
