Dynamic Team Will Transform Marketing

Long established as the UK’s number one supplier of spare parts for the catering industry, First Choice Group’s newly assembled dynamic marketing team is challenged with not only maintaining its employer’s reputation but evolving the brand to greater heights.

Marketing Manager, Helen Nicks, Content Creator and Copywriter, Steve Sharma, Marketing Designer, Alan Charlesworth and Marketing Assistant, Andrew Slattery are responsible for refreshing the company’s marketing culture and leading First Choice Group into a dynamic new era of communications.

The previous Marketing Manager, Terry Stack, retired at Christmas after 12 years with the Cannock based catering supplies giant. And according to Helen, the foundations for long-term success are very strong.

“Terry did a fantastic job in putting First Choice Group on the map and making it the industry leader it is today but now we’re ready to take things to the next level,” she said.

“The company has put together a team of great depth, the skills and experience we now have at our disposal will ensure that the name First Choice, already synonymous with exceptional service delivery, outstanding efficiency and quality products is revered far and wide as the undisputed number one supplier of spare parts for catering and refrigeration and accredited engineer training.”

Helen, who has a Masters degree and background in photography, boasts 18-years marketing experience at the highest level for household names like Age Concern, Dunns Imaging and Mercia Management.

Former newspaper editor turned PR professional Steve has worked on global marketing campaigns for clients like Sony and Toshiba and has project management experience in education, retail and local government.

Alan joins First Choice having spent eight years working for a number of advertising and design agencies in the region on high profile accounts for retail and consumer giants like Marks & Spencer and Zanussi as well as the Football Association and West Bromwich Albion football club.

Meanwhile Andy has been with the company since 2006 and is responsible for the production of all catering, refrigeration and ancillaries spares brochures, both in print and online, as well as managing all product photography.

Managing Director of First Choice Group, John Whitehouse, said the creation of a new marketing department was necessary.

“We have always prided ourselves on being an ambitious company and while we continue to enjoy great success we want to be even bigger and even better in the future,” he said.

“If First Choice is to achieve its goals then its marketing function must be dynamic and innovative. That is why we have assembled this new team which has, individually and collectively, outstanding knowledge, skills and potential.”
